Our Mission - A Better Enviroment

As a part of our journey comes an important cause we support!
We are a concerned about our planet's future and we give the equivalent gravity to this mission.
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. They also provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines.

Yes, parts of the Amazon are on fire. No, it’s not the end of the world. Yes, you can help!

For over two weeks, the Brazilian Amazon rainforest has been experiencing a rash of intensifying forest fires, with few signs of slowing down.

The unprecedented number of fires is shocking environmentalists, scientists, and tree lovers alike. So far this year, a record setting 74,000 wildfires have already been recorded, nearly double last year’s total. For comparison, that number was just over 68,000 back in 2016.

Protecting the Amazon and restoring burned areas means rebuilding critical habitat for potentially 2,000 different species of animals including many endangered ones like river dolphins, tapirs, spider monkeys, and sloths.

The impact of planting trees on humans will also be immense. Living within the Amazon are many Indigenous communities who rely heavily on the resources of the forest for their livelihoods. These communities are often not the cause of these fires or other degenerative forest practices, as they tend to be conscientious and responsible stewards of the land.

Unfortunately, these Indigenous communities and small-scale farmers are also disproportionately affected by these fires.

What can be done?

Though we wish all the old-growth trees lost would still be standing, there is something that can be done. Plant trees!

The only way to rebuild the Amazon is going to be to put more trees back in the ground. Granted, it will take time for these trees to be as influential as their forebears, but the value of their future impact is virtually immeasurable.

Newly planted trees will help restore the most severely damaged areas of the Amazon. As they grow, the trees will sequester carbon and release oxygen, but more importantly they will serve as the foundation for rebuilding an entire ecosystem.

How You Can Help & How it Works?

Thus what we do to contribute, is that we donate 10% of your purchase's value from our Eco-Friendly Collection to a non-profit organization named One Tree Planted that plants 1 Tree for each $1 donated!

As an environmental charity, it is on a mission to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees!

As an environmental charity, OneTreePlanted is dedicated to making it easier for individuals and businesses to give back to the environment, fight climate change, protect biodiversity and help reforestation efforts around the world. All by planting trees!

Started in 2014, they have more than doubled the number of trees planted year over year. Fast-forward to today, they now work with awesome reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa who help them get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, and protect habitat for biodiversity.

In 2018, they were able to get more trees in the ground than ever before - 1.3 million!

The goal for 2019 is 4 MILLION trees!

Help us get there!

We pool the donations for each project and send the funds to our reforestation partners. We vet our partners to ensure that we maintain a tree survival rate of 80-90%.

Depending on the project, our partners choose the best tree species to plant and work with local communities to get them in the ground.

Planting typically happens in the rainy season when the soil is wet and provides optimal conditions for tree survival.

Once all the trees are in the ground we send out a report highlighting the impact of your trees. We will be sure to include plenty of pictures of the newly planted section of forest!
